1 Norwich Resident Killed, 2 Injured In New Jersey Crash: Police
The head-on collision also claimed the life of a New Jersey man, according to state police.
NORWICH, CT — A Norwich woman was killed and two other local residents were injured in a head-on crash in New Jersey early Monday.
Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police, said the accident happened around 2:08 a.m. on Interstate-80 West in Totowa Borough, Passaic County.
A preliminary investigation showed a Honda sedan, driven by Albin Fermin, 30, of Newark, New Jersey, was traveling the wrong way, eastbound in the westbound lanes, police said.

A Buick SUV, operated by Joanne Furman, 60, with passengers Imani Alexis Furman, 24, and a two-year-old child, all three from Norwich, was traveling westbound on I-80, according to police.

Both Fermin and Imani Furman were killed. Joanne Furman sustained serious injuries, and the two-year-old child sustained moderate injuries, and they were both transported to an area hospital, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
