State To Approve $11.4 Million For Norwich Business Park

The state will allot funds for development of a business park that will include warehouse, office space, and manufacturing uses.

NORWICH, CT — The Norwich Community Development Corporation is slated to receive $11.4 million for development of Business Park North from the state. The project is one of several listed in the Community Investment Fund 2030 Board's agenda.

The money will be used to construct an arterial roadway, pedestrian/bike lane, bus stops, stormwater management, and utility installation and upgrades. The work will facilitate access to and construction of 12 sites for warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, and office space.

The sites will be 9,000 to 500,000 square feet each.

The news comes despite the city council's disapproval of a zoning change for Business Park North in February as well as concerns expressed by residents, according to The Norwich Bulletin.

The city has invested $4.7 million in the project so far.
