Obituary: Dora (Montefuscoli) Connolly, 94, of Orange

Dora worked at Subway World Headquarters in Milford for many years and was a devoted member of the community.

ORANGE, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) Dora (Montefuscoli) Connolly, widow of Gerald Connolly and a long-time resident of Orange, passed away on December 30, 2021.

Daughter of the late Gennaro and Angela (Coppola) Montefuscoli, Dora was born in Italy and, as a young child, came with her family to the United States.

She attended the Stamford public schools and Merrill’s School of Business. After retiring from Subway World Headquarters in Milford in 1998, she volunteered for many years at Milford Hospital.

She lived in Orange for over 48 years before moving to North Greenbush, New York in 2013. She was a member of Holy Infant Church in Orange and its Ladies Guild and, later, of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Troy, New York.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia Altman, son-in-law Robert and grandchild John Patrick, all of Kinderhook, New York; sisters-in-law Bridget Connolly and Mary Connolly of Stamford; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by Gerald, her beloved husband of over 56 years; her brother Genaro Montefuscoli, his wife Louise and their daughter Jeanne Dunn; brothers-in-law Francis, Thomas, Eugene, and Robert Connolly; and sister-in-law Kathleen Connolly.

A Mass of Christian Burial be celebrated on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Holy Infant Church, 450 Racebrook Road, Orange, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH).

Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave., Milford, CT.
