OXFORD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.

Emmanuel College, Boston MA

  • Emily Bassett of Oxford has been named to the 2025 Emmanuel College Dean's List. Bassett is double majoring in liberal studies and elementary education. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Emmanuel students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a 16-credit semester.

James Madison University, Harrisonburg VA

  • Oxford resident Alena Kica graduated with a degree in marketing during commencement exercises in May 2025. She also has been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2025 semester. Students who earn dean's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899. Kica is majoring in marketing.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

  • Ryan Bavone, Abigail DeRasmo and Kate Dolyak, all of Oxford, were named to the spring 2025 Dean's List. To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average.

Western Connecticut State University, Danbury CT

  • Eight students from Oxford were named to the Dean's List for the spring 2025 semester. Those students and their majors are Emma Alexander, nursing; Hannah Alexander, music, classical instrument emphasis; Mitzi Conceicao, art; Amelia McGee, English; Vanessa Segui, social work; Kardeen Stiven, nursing; Rashanah Stiven, nursing; and Emily Sura, exploratory studies.
