Horse Rescued From Icy Pond In Oxford
A horse was pulled from icy pond on Chestnut Tree Hill Road after a quick response by Oxford crews.
OXFORD, CT — Oxford firefighters rescued a horse that fell through the ice on a pond on Chestnut Tree Hill Road on Monday, officials say.
Crews found the horse in about five feet of water, quickly cut a path through the ice with chainsaws, and then used a rope to guide the animal safely back to shore.

The Durham Animal Response Team says it was notified but later canceled after the horse was rescued and a veterinarian arrived on scene.
Officials said the rescue ended safely with no reported injuries.
