On Campus: Great Achievements By College Students From Oxford

OXFORD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.

Central Connecticut State University, New Britain CT

• Kathryn Alexander, Yasmin Obanner and Brenna Virgalla, all of Oxford, were named to the Dean's List at CCSU for the spring 2025 semester.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• Two residents of Oxford were among more than 800 Eastern Connecticut State University students who received undergraduate and graduate-level degrees in the 2024-25 academic year, which culminated this past May with two commencement ceremonies at the conclusion of the spring 2025 semester. Amber Plourde received a Master of Science degree in early childhood education, and Joseph Hines received a Bachelor of Science degree in business information systems.

Marymount University, Arlington VA

• Jordyn O'Driscoll of Oxford, a graduate of Christian Heritage School in Trumbull, has been named to the spring 2025 Dean's list at Marymount University. She is a senior studying health sciences with a focus in public health. To qualify for the Dean's list, a student must have a GPA of 3.4 or higher. She is also a member of the Marymount women's soccer team and was named to the Atlantic East All-Academic Team for the 2024-25 academic year. To qualify, student-athletes need a 3.20 GPA or higher for the fall and spring semesters.

Roger Williams University, Bristol RI

• Meghan Dembek of Oxford was named to the sSpring 2025 Dean's List at Roger Williams University. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.
