Derrah, Dubey, Gottschalk, Klezovich: Recent Death Notices From Oxford And Seymour

Condolences are extended to the families and friends of those who have recently died.

OXFORD-SEYMOUR, CT — Here are some recent death notices from Oxford and Seymour.

Jack Derrah, 80, of Oxford, passed away on April 3, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Chanyapat, his wife of 15 years. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1965, and was stationed at a radar site in Arizona. After leaving the service, he worked as a refrigeration mechanic, then worked for UPS as a truck driver, eventually becoming a self-employed, independent trucker for many years. He finished his driving career behind the wheel of a school bus for five years, where he made many friends of children and their parents.

Urmila (Mishra) Dubey, 91, of Seymour, passed away on March 27, 2025 in her home surrounded by family. Born in India on August 15, 1933, she came to America in 1996. Urmila was married to the late Sanat K. Dubey.

Michael Gottschalk, 71, of Seymour, beloved husband of 51 years of Linda (Trinder) Gottschalk, died peacefully on April 4, 2025 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family. A 1971 graduate of Bullard Havens Technical High School, Mike enjoyed a long and successful career as a heating technician, employed through the years with Kaufman Fuel, Santa Fuel, Standard Oil, Sikorsky and Edgerton Fuel, until the time of his retirement in 2019. He was a popular serviceman, holding the trust of his customers and looking out for their best interests.

Joseph Klezovich, 70, of Seymour, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Happy) Klezovich, entered peaceful rest on April 10, 2025 in his home surrounded by family. A lifelong resident of Seymour, Joe graduated from Seymour High School and began his career as a UPS driver, a job he thoroughly enjoyed, and was proud to have never been in an accident through his many years of service. Always a dedicated and hard worker, Joe loved maintaining his home and enjoyed his “parties in the garage” with friends and family. He loved his Harley Davidson, and especially traveling with family.
