New Businessman Offering To Help Oxford And Seymour Residents In Need
His business will be giving away some essential items to area residents affected by the recent flooding.
OXFORD, CT — As citizens of Oxford, Seymour and surrounding areas begin to rebuild after the devastation of fatal floodwaters which pulverized the region late Sunday afternoon, a new businessman is doing his part to help provide immediate assistance with some essential food items.
From Tuesday through Friday this week, a recently-opened gas station and convenience store, The RoadRunners, will provide milk and bread free of charge to residents of Oxford and Seymour who provide a photo ID.
"We want to do our part to help out our new neighbors with some immediate needs," owner Huss Gondal told Patch.

Powerful downpours which dumped more than a foot of rain on western Connecticut in a 3-hour stretch late Sunday afternoon caused considerable flooding. Some roadways and driveways caved in, some bridges collapsed and water damage caused destruction which will likely cost upwards of $100 million to repair, an official said.
Two women died as a result of being swept away by floodwaters.
