Obituary: Dorothy "Dottie" Ann Mineo

Beloved Mother and Grandmother

Dorothy “Dottie” Ann Mineo, age 92, of Stratford entered into rest on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

She was the devoted wife of 53 years to the late Harry Joseph Mineo. Dottie was born in Bridgeport on October 30, 1930 to the late Anthony and Josephine (Falco) De Siena. Earlier in her life, she took time for herself and worked at local department stores but still had an unwavering commitment to her family. Dottie was legendary in her cooking prowess, but more importantly she was happiest when she was offering her amazing dishes and desserts to friends and family. Dottie was featured in the Connecticut Post for her famous Lemon Chicken. Even in her final days she glowed when offering treats to her neighbors. She took pride in the way she dressed and was known for her style and grace. Dottie and Harry traveled most years with friends to destinations like the Bahamas, US Virgin Islands and Italy. She was always more concerned for her family than herself. Most of the time she asked about her family’s welfare while not considering her own. Most of all, Dottie was all about spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. The family would like to extend our thanks to the wonderful staff at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home for taking care of Dottie.

She was the beloved mother of Gregory R. (Dru) Mineo, Gail (Chuck) Koreiwo, David (Daniela) Mineo and the late Jeffrey Mineo, loving grandmother of Justin, Bryan, Sean, Teresa, Alissa, Andrea, Robert and the late Matthew, great grandmother of Sophia and River.
