Obituary: Kenneth LaCroix

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle

Kenneth LaCroix, age 76, of Oxford, CT and Bradenton, FL entered into rest on Sunday, August 21, 2022.

He was the devoted husband of 11 years to Candace (Ford) LaCroix. Ken was born in Bridgeport on January 15, 1946 son of the late Joseph and Alice (Morin) LaCroix. He grew up and lived in the Shelton area all his life. He graduated from Notre Dame High School of Bridgeport. After owning a commercial laundry for many years, Ken moved on to work in HVAC and building maintenance for the Shelton Board of Education, most recently as Buildings and Grounds Supervisor. He was a trusted employee and teachers and staff valued his expertise and work ethic until he retired.

Ken had a passion for golf! He was skilled and accomplished, playing in tournaments and sinking several holes-in-one. He was a longtime member of Highland Golf Club in Shelton and also joined River Strand Country Club in Bradenton when he retired. Throughout the years, Ken built many friendships and shared the love of the game and many a toast at the "19th Hole" with his friends. He and his wife Candy enjoyed couples golf, traveling, and driving in their convertible together. Ken shared his father's love of carpentry with his grandson, and made furniture and decorative pieces for family and friends. He earned the nickname "MacGuyver" from his family because he could fix anything. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family and was proud of his two daughters and their accomplishments. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed playing games with them and spoiling them on holidays. When he was not with his family or on the golf course, he could be found on his front porch enjoying the company of his friends and neighbors.
