Obituary: Thomas D. Giacchi, Jr., 87, Of Oxford
He was a devout communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Oxford and was a member of the bereavement group.

Thomas D. Giacchi, Jr. Fairfield Fire Department (Ret.) age 87 of Oxford, the beloved husband of the late Maryann (Gayla) Giacchi, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at Griffin Hospital. Tom was born in Bridgeport, CT, on May 6, 1936, the son of the late Thomas D. and Mary Catherine (Colonnese) Giacchi, Sr.
Tom attended Fairfield Preparatory High School and Fairfield University. He was a devout communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Oxford and was a member of the bereavement group. He was a 3rd degree member of The Aurora Council No.23 Knights of Columbus of Seymour. Tom served his nation proudly as radar technician in the CT. National Guard. Tom was a Firefighter for 32 years for the Fairfield Fire Department prior to his retirement. He was a social member of the Southport Fire Company for 32 years. For the past 20 years Tom has been an active volunteer for the Oxford Center Volunteer Fire Company No.1. Tom was a member of the American Legion David S, Miles, Post No.174 of Oxford. He was also an EMT and was issued Badge # 18 by the of State of CT. Tom will be sadly missed by all but will remain forever in our hearts.

Tom’s loving family includes his devoted son Thomas M. Giacchi of Oxford, his loving daughter Patricia Morrow of Shelton, his two caring sisters Denise Conway of Toronto, Ontario and Jacqueline DeLucia of Trumbull, his four cherished grandchildren Lily and Ava Giacchi of Kansas and Cassidy and Rachel Morrow of Shelton, as well as several nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his beloved son-in-law Scott Morrow.
A Funeral Mass in Celebration of life Tom’s will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023 at 10:00 am (Directly) at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Rd., Oxford., with Father Thomas Shepard, Pastor officiating. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives may call on Sunday July 16, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) in Seymour.
