Oxford 2023 Election Voter Guide: Candidates, Polling Places

Here's everything you need to know concerning the Oxford local elections, including the candidates, polling places, and voting hours.

OXFORD, CT — On Nov. 7, Oxford residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions. Contested races include: Selectman, Board of Finance, Board of Education, Board of Assessment Appeals, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Zoning Board of Appeals.

Polls in Connecticut are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can use the Secretary of State’s website to find your polling place. Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Connecticut also allows for Election Day registration at designated centers in each town. People must be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote using Election Day registration. To receive your absentee ballot, complete and sign an application and return it to your Town Clerk, or you can request an absentee ballot online.

Selectman

The Democratic candidate is David W. McKane. The Republican candidate is Arnold Jensen.

Town Treasurer

Republican candidate Dana D. Flach is running unopposed.

Tax Collector

Republican candidate Helen Leung is running unopposed.

Board of Finance

For Board of Finance, you will vote for up to three candidates. The Democratic candidates are Nicole Dykstra and Ann Krane. The Republican candidates are Victor Catalano and Brett Olbrys.

Board of Education

For Board of Education, you will vote for up to four candidates. The Democratic candidate is Debbie Sherman. The Republican candidates are Susan Kondic, Robert D. Carr, Michael Koosa, and Joseph Matusovich.

Board of Assessment Appeals

The Democratic candidate is Carol Georgette. The Republican candidate is Pat LaMarco.

Republican candidate Timothy Richmond is running unopposed.

Planning and Zoning Commission

For Planning and Zoning Commission, you will vote for up to three candidates. The Democratic candidates are Joshua Dykstra and Kathleen Lori. The Republican candidates are Edward Rowland and Carl Bouchard.

Republican candidate Jason Swan is running unopposed.

Zoning Board of Appeals

For Zoning Board of Appeals, you will vote for up to three candidates. The Democratic candidates are Eric D. Goldstein and Peter Bunzl. The Republican candidates are Brian J. Alonza, Sr. and Mary J. Calladio.
