Oxford 2024 Election Results: Jensen Elected To General Assembly
The polls have closed in Oxford for the 2024 elections, and here are the latest updates on how local residents voted.

OXFORD, CT — Shortly after the polls closed Tuesday night, Vice President Kamala Harris was announced as the winner of Connecticut's seven electoral college votes, defeating former President Donald J. Trump and three other candidates, according to the Associated Press.
Also, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, won re-election and a third term in Congress, according to projections. He defeated GOP challenger Matthew M. Corey and two other candidates.
Democratic incumbent Jim Himes kept his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives for the 4th District, turning back the challenge of Republican Michael Goldstein and Independent Benjamin Wesley, according to the Associated Press.

Locally, David Labriola, longtime state representative for the 131st District, did not seek re-election, but will become the new judge of probate for the region. The battle for his seat in the General Assembly was won by Oxford Republican selectman Arnold Jensen, who topped Oxford Democratic Registrar of Voters Ellen Fox.
"Had a great team who worked really hard with me," Fox wrote on her Facebook page. "I’m proud of the work we did. Met wonderful people throughout the 131st. We all had an experience of a lifetime and we didn’t win. I called Arnold Jensen to congratulate him and wished him luck."

Republican incumbent Eric Berthel won a fourth term in the 32nd Senatorial District, handily topping Democratic challenger Jeff Desmarais.
