After 75 years of service, the Oxford Center Volunteer Fire Company #1 continues to give back to the community with a parade and carnival to celebrate the anniversary. Located at the Oxford Town Hall, the carnival will be held on Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be food, games and rides for residents to enjoy.Following the same route as the Memorial Day parade, the anniversary parade will begin on Saturday at 5 p.m. on Oxford Road and will end at the carnival.St. Baldrick's Foundation, a charity that funds research to find cures for childhood cancer, is also sponsoring an event at the carnival on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. as a fundraiser for their charity, according to the Republican-American.For more information about the events this weekend, read a full Rep-Am story <a href="http://www.rep-am.com/news/local/884093.txt" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here</a>.
