OXFORD, CT — The Naugatuck Valley Council of Government has unanimously approved a Local Transportation Capital Improvement Program grant for the Town of Oxford for $6.5 million, according to a Facebook post by First Selectman George Temple.

The grant will fund the reconstruction of Chestnut Tree Hill Road, starting from Route 67 to Route 42. The project will also improve stormwater drainage and realign the intersection at Route 67.

Surveying, design, and permitting are expected to be completed in 2023, and construction should begin in spring 2024.
