Plane Makes Emergency Belly Landing At Oxford Airport

The plane landed on its belly after its landing gear didn't work, according to Connecticut State Police.

OXFORD, CT — A plane landed on its belly at Oxford Airport on Saturday morning after its landing gear didn’t work, according to Connecticut State Police.

Police said a single-engine plane was attempting a landing at Waterbury-Oxford Airport while using runway 18.

“Upon touching down, the landing gear became inoperable,” police wrote in a news release. “The single-engine plane skidded to final rest on its belly causing it damage. The plane was removed from the runway and further investigation will be conducted by the FAA.”

Police said no injuries were reported as a result of the plane crash.
