Imagine a place with soothing jazz music playing in the background. Imagine you're there making art, just chilling and relaxing. Sounds great, doesn't it? Now imagine this place is your home, and it's an online program for your preschooler! Very cool n’est pas? Parents, and my little friends who've joined me in Pint-sized Picassos and my other craft programs know that process-oriented art is near and dear to my heart. In our Craft & Chat Café, your preschooler will be creating art with materials you have in the house already, scissors, glue, crayons, paper, tape, etc. You can pick up a kit at the library that will ONLY have magazines for cutting or ripping out for collage and newspapers for ripping up or to use as a work surface and Q-tips for wet work. Although there is no instruction, this program will have the added benefit of improving fine motor skills (using the pincer grip to rip paper, for example), ample practice using scissors, looking at colors and shapes, and enhancing concentration! There are a lot of benefits to the brain when we are creating art, and with process art, there are no pre-determined ends/outcomes, we're only interested in the act of creating. Just me and my little friends making art on Tuesday mornings while we lightly chat about this and that. This is a very casual online program, but registration is required! 7/27, 8/3, 8/10/, 8/17
