“The division received tremendous feedback from the dozens of participants in last summer’s first-ever DCJ Camp Justice so we decided to offer the camp again to those interested in an up-close and meaningful view of the incredible opportunities associated with a career in the criminal justice system,” Griffin said.
“The division is committed to education and outreach that ensures that young people in Connecticut understand the work prosecutors do every day to keep their communities safe while protecting the rights of individuals.”
Last summer’s inaugural DCJ Camp Justice provided students a comprehensive introduction to Connecticut’s criminal justice system through various presentations.
Those included guest speakers and career panels, interactive opportunities with courthouse visits, and a mock trial.
“Last year’s camp was such a positive experience and an amazing educational opportunity for so many young people interested in learning more about the criminal justice system,” said Executive Assistant State’s Attorney Lisa M. D’Angelo, coordinator of Camp Justice.
“At this year’s Camp Justice, we are planning to expand upon last year’s successful agenda with some exciting new programming.”
