Connecticut Is 4th Smartest State in the Country

After a Donald Trump insult, the Washington Post looked at IQ, SAT scores, ACT scores and the number of college graduates per state.

Last Thursday, in Iowa, Trump asked a group of voters how Iowa residents could be as “stupid” as to believe Ben Carson overcame his ”pathological temper” as a child.

“How stupid are the people of Iowa? How stupid are the people of the country to believe this crap?,” Trump asked.

Which prompted the Washington Post to analyze how intelligent Iowa residents really are. The newspaper compiled 2015 SAT scores and 2015 ACT scores from each state, as well as IQ and the number of college graduates per state.

Turns out that, according to that criteria, Iowa is the 8th smartest state in the country, followed by New Jersey.

Here are the top 10 most intelligent states, according to the Post survey:

  1. Massachusetts
  2. Minnesota
  3. New Hampshire
  4. Connecticut
  5. Wisconsin
  6. Kansas
  7. Vermont
  8. Iowa
  9. New Jersey
  10. Colorado

And the least intelligent? South Carolina, Nevada, Mississippi, Florida and Hawaii bottom out the last five in the ranking.
