Drug Sale Charges Filed Against Southington Man
Police say they obtained arrest warrants after making 'controlled purchases' of marijuana.

A Southington man is facing four felony counts of sale of marijuana following a Southington Police undercover buy operation.
Police said that last May, the Southington PD Special Investigations Unit received information that the suspect allegedly was selling marijuana in town. Based on the information, police arranged for four controlled purchases of marijuana from the suspect and then applied for and received four arrest warrants from state Superior Court in Bristol.
It was about 3:10 p.m. on Jan. 26, when officers went to the home of Michael McManus, 21, and arrested him. McManus initially was held on $35,000 court set bond on each count, for a total of $140,000.
During an appearance at Bristol court on Jan. 27, McManus’s bond was lowered to $15,000 on each count. He was released on a total of $60,000 bond and is scheduled to return to court on March 2, according to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website.
