Got Something To Say In Southington? Say It Via New Survey
The town is seeking resident input about future development in Southington, and it is utilizing an online survey to gauge what folks want.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Whether you have a suggestion or a beef about Southington's development, you now have the chance to let the town know.
The Town of Southington is seeking resident opinions about the town's plan of conservation and development via an online survey that is out now.
A state-mandated document, a plan of conservation and development (aka a "POCD" in municipal development circles) is exactly what its name says it is ... a plan about a town's future development.

Such a plan comes in handy if, say, someone wants to build a massive widget factory in town and is looking to rezone land to do so.
If the town plan doesn't call for more industry, then the Southington Planning and Zoning Commission is likely going to shoot down a proposal if the "POCD" doesn't include it.

Southington last updated its POCD in 2016.
The state requires municipalities to update their POCDs every 10 years to "establish a vision and objectives that address housing, economic development/commercial activity, parks and open space, historical and natural resources, and sustainability, among other topics."
This is where Southington residents come in, as this survey addresses these topics.
