Life-Changing Program On Tap At Southington Library

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A potentially life-changing program at the Southington Public Library on Thursday will tackle the difficult topic of addiction and recovery.
Guests are invited to "Breaking the Chains of Addiction: A Community Call to Action" this Thursday, May 8, at 6:30 p.m.

It will take place at the library, which is located at 255 Main St., Southington.
"This powerful presentation on family recovery and addiction awareness promises to shake the foundations of how addiction is seen and dealt with in our society," wrote the library in an announcement.

"Addiction doesn't discriminate. It tears families apart. It ravages communities, and it thrives in the shadows of stigma and misunderstanding."
A certified family recovery support specialist and trauma-sensitive yoga and meditation instructor will host the program.
She will:
• Unveil the true face of addiction and its far-reaching impact shatter the myths that fuel stigma and prevent people from seeking the help they need.
• Empower you with compassionate, evidence-based approaches for supporting those who struggle with addiction
• Equip you with practical tools to make a real difference in your community.
