In Memoriam: Anne 'Nancy' Adams

The retired Southington teacher passed away Nov. 12 at the age of 84.

Anne ‘Nancy’ (Casner) Adams, of Southington, passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015 at home.

She was the wife of Leslie Adams Jr.

She was born Feb. 2, 1931 in Southington, the daughter of the late Edson Hale and Mary Agnes (Beirne) Casner.

She was a retired teacher for Special Education for the Southington School system.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of Southington and was a parishioner of Mary Our Queen Church. She served as President of the Ladies Guild and President of the Southington Council of Catholic Women. Nancy also served as President of the South End Community Association and President of the Southington Historical Society.

Besides her husband she is survived by her loving children, Jim Adams and Maryann , John Adams and Kathy all of Plantsville, and Sandy A. Brophy of Torrington. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Christine DeMaio and Mark of Plantsville, John Adams and Patty of Canton, Brian Adams and Samantha Ramon of Plantsville, Marissa Salvesen and Donald of Plantsville, Emily Vescovi and Peter of TX, Michael Brophy Jr. and Amy of Torrington. She leaves a brother George Casner of Cheshire and a sister Katherine ‘Dolly’ D’Addio of NY and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Jack, James, Robert and Edward Casner and her beloved sister Dorothy “Dot” Riccio.

The Funeral will be held Monday 9:45 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to Mary Our Queen Church for a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at South End Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday 5 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St. Plantsville, CT 06479.
