In Memoriam: Shawn L. Zavodjancik

Shawn L. Zavodjancik, 30, of Southington, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 at Hartford Hospital, after a lifetime battle with CF.

Born on October 2, 1985 in New Britain to Paul and Cynthia (Hillgrove) Zavodjancik, he had been a lifelong Southington resident.

Shawn graduated from Southington High School in 2003, and then Johnson & Wales University in Providence RI., where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts. He worked as a chef in many restaurants in RI and CT.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister Susan and her daughter Michaela of Southington, his uncle Michael Zavodjancik of AZ and several cousins.

He was predeceased by his twin brother and best friend, Scott Zavodjancik.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
