Readers' Choice: Southington's Favorite Tax Preparers

We all know that no one likes taxes, but our Readers’ Choice poll this week asking for your favorite tax preparers didn't get any love either, with several sites having no nominations for the best place or person to do your taxes.

But in Southington, a little more than a handful of people nominated six of their favorite tax preparers in town that they trust to navigate the tax code and complete the annual mound of paperwork.

Readers Michelle Slimak and Patti Hill highly recommend on Cornerstone Court.

Reader Trisha Belfoni recommended and reader Amy submitted a shout out for Carrie Cameron with Taxing Matters, while reader Deborah Polydys suggested Johanna Furgalack.

Former "tax pro" Ruth Stanley said that she uses Turbo Tax, but that she doesn't recommend it for everyone.

"I do not recommend going it alone to everyone, as one must know how things should look, even when using the easy step-by-step processes offered by any tax software. Sometimes, even the best deductions have to be searched for!" Stanley wrote.

If none of these options suits you perfectly and if you are scrambling to meet the April 17^th deadline – that’s right folks you get two extra days this year because the 15^th is a Sunday and the 16th is a holiday in Washington DC - Patch has some other suggestions for whom to call.
