Southington FD Announces Staff Changes

The Southington Fire Department last week announced multiple promotions, as well as the swearing in of two new firefighters.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Southington Fire Department began the month of May with several new promotions, along with two new hires, within its ranks.

The SFD last week said on Thursday, May 1, the Southington Board of Fire Commissioners issued the following promotions.

They are: Battalion Chiefs Andrew Polzella and Robert Moquin; Captains Ryan Pulver and Mark Jurgilewicz; and Lieutenants Jasen Zarcone and Derek Dion

The openings were due to upcoming retirements within the SFD.

Meanwhile, the SFD swore in two new firefighters/emergency medical technicians to join its ranks.

They are Daniel Such and Connor McGeehan, whose new roles in the hybrid paid/volunteer department are filling vacancies caused by recent retirements.
