Southington Police Rescue Hikers

The pair of hikers became lost on Panthorn Trail.

Two female hikers who became lost on Panthorn Trail were rescued by Southington Police Monday evening.

It was about 5:52 p.m. Feb. 1 when Southington Police received a 911 call that two hikers had become lost on the Blue trail at the end of Panthorn Trail, according to police.

Officers found that two hikers, who are 15- and 26-years-old, had walked along the Blue Trail. “As they began to walk back to their vehicle it became dark and they did not have a flashlight so they called 911 for assistance,” according to police.

Southington Officers hiked up the trail and they were able to locate the hikers and guide them off of the trail.

No one was injured, police said.
