Southington Restaurant Burglarized

Police say thieves pried open three cash registers and stole cash.

Three cash registers were pried open during the burglary of Spartans II Restaurant early Tuesday.

According to Southington Police, it was about 4:45 a.m. on Feb. 2 when they received a report of a burglar alarm at the restaurant located at 930 Meriden- Waterbury Turnpike.

Officers found that a door on the south side of the building had been forced open. While searching the restaurant, officers found that two cash registers in the bar area and a cash register in the take-out area were pried open. An unknown amount of cash was taken.

A police canine was unsuccessful in tracking for the suspects.

Investigators are working on obtaining video surveillance of the incident.
