Southington Teen Faces Public Indecency Charges

Southington Police say the charges stem from an incident involving two young girls over the weekend.

An 18-year-old Southington resident is in police custody after he was arrested on charges he exposed himself to two young girls on the Southington Linear Trail Sunday afternoon.

Southington Police said that it was at 1:07 p.m. Jan. 3 when officers responded to the Southington Linear Trail on a report that a male exposed himself to two juvenile females who are five- and eight-years old, as he rode by them on a bicycle.

A police investigation led to the arrest of Timothy Delaney, of Southington.

Police said in a statement, “During the investigative phase, officers located a baggie of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia on Delaney’s person.”

Delaney was charged with two counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor and Public Indecency, as well as second-degree Breach of Peace, Possession of Marijuana within 1,500 of a school, Possession Less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with less than a 1/2 ounce of marijuana, according to police.

Delaney was held on a $50,000 surety bond pending a court appearance Monday, police said.
