Southington Traffic Alert: Police Issue 'Heavy Traffic Alert'

Southington Police are asking motorists to avoid North Main Street (Route 10) Thursday afternoon because of continuing Southington Water Department work.

Police said there is a “Heavy Traffic Alert” in the area of North Main Street (Route 10) between Hobart and Chapman Streets because of the work.

“This will cause heavy congestion and traffic delays. There will be alternating, one lane traffic in this area for the next several hours,” police advised about 2 p.m.

Motorists are asked to avoid this area and to take alternate routes around the area.
