State Budget Implications in Southington
Looks like the rest stop in town will close and a state rep will retire.

The fallout of Gov. Dannel Malloy’s budget proposal will continue for months.
But there are two things apparently are certain — there will be an impact upon Southington.
Under the governor’s fiscal proposal, rest areas along I-84 eastbound — specifically, the stop Southington will be closed, according to The Courant.

Also impacted are the rest tops in Willington, and a Welcome Center on I-95 northbound in Westbrook would also be closed. The moves would save just over $1.1 million.
Meanwhile, state Rep. Al Adinolfi announced on Wednesday that he will not seek reelection, according to MyRecordJournal.comm. Adinolfi, a Republican, has represented the 103rd District, which includes parts of Cheshire, Wallingford and Southington, for seven terms.
