The Veterans Memorial Park pool plays host to a cannonball contest every Wednesday in July.
The contest, which takes place at 1 p.m. every week, whittles down the pool of contestants by pitting two kids against one another off the diving boards. The winner of that round - the one with the biggest splash - advances, while the loser is eliminated.
