South Windsor councilor's display now in its fifth year.

For the fifth consecutive year, Town Councilor Tom Delnicki held his annual South Windsor Holiday Light Festival at his home on Felt Road.

The event, which was held Saturday and featured so many holiday lawn ornaments they could be seen from space, raised $2,400 for the South Windsor Food & Fuel Bank.

In addition to about a dozen new ornaments, this year’s event also featured a new partnership with the South Windsor Dairy Queen, which donated proceeds from an October fundraiser to the Food & Fuel Bank.

Delnicki said in a telephone interview that the event has a popular regional attraction, with people coming from as far as Massachusetts to see the festive holiday display.

“It went fantastic; every year it gets bigger and better,” Delnicki said. “We had a tremendous collection. And the best part is that every penny gets distributed throughout the community and helps people in South Windsor. There’s a lot of folks having a tough time making ends meet.”
