Motorcyclist Injured In South Windsor Accident

Rider got caught in a sudden downpour, according to police.

A motorcyclist was taken to Hartford Hospital on Wednesday afternoon after he was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Sullivan Avenue in front of South Windsor Town Hall, according to police.

Police spokesperson Sgt. Scott Custer said that the motorcyclist got caught riding his bike in a sudden downpour. The accident occurred when the motorcycle collided with the back of a vehicle turning into Wapping Community Church.

After the accident, which took place around 4 p.m., the rider complained of leg pain.

It was the second motorcycle accident to take place in South Windsor in less than a week.

On July 5, Joseph Chipman of Vernon injured his leg when he lost control of his motorcycle on Route 74 near the Ellington town line. Chipman, according to South Windsor police, remained at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center for a broken leg.

No further details were available and the accident was cleared.
