Pete's CARSTAR Collects Donations for South Windsor Youth Safe Home

Local repair service makes donation to home for children.

Pete's CARSTAR of South Windsor joined with the other five Connecticut CARSTARS to collect nonperishable food for local food pantries.

On Dec. 20, Connecticut CARSTARS presented a check for $5,500 to Foodshare of Connecticut, along with 1,000 pounds of nonperishable food. Donations were received from CARSTAR vendors, staff, and customers.

The South Windsor Youth Safe Home will benefit from food donations received by Pete’s CARSTAR of South Windsor.  

“We are pleased to partner with our regional CT CARSTAR stores.  Knowing that our efforts can help a local organization like the South Windsor Youth Safe Home is very rewarding,” said Pete Gutska, owner of Pete’s CARSTAR in South Windsor.

The South Windsor Safe Home is a Connecticut Department of Children and Families licensed and funded safe home that provides residential services to children between the ages of 3 and 12. Services are directed toward children and sibling groups who are experiencing an initial placement from their home due to allegations of abuse, neglect or abandonment.
