Here is a photo gallery of the South Windsor Volunteer Fire Department’s live burn held last Tuesday. The live burn is a required training exercise for the fire department.
Captain Tim Papp wrote the following:
We did 3 different live fire sessions to make sure all our members completed the training. It is a nice benefit for us that the town of Ellington FD owns a training trailer and brings it to South Windsor for us to use. In years past we have used the CT Fire Academy and Bloomfield training building. Our members meet every Tuesday night from 7 - 10 p.m. for training. The department technical rescue squad also meets monthly normally on a sunday morning for a few hours to train on their specific skills. The department just finished a Emergency Medical Response Technician class with around 20 members all successfully passing. The Training Division is currently staffed with a chief officer, captain and lieutenant.Find out what's happening in South Windsorfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
