Rain Erodes Rt. 5 Shoulder, Exposes Gas Line in South Windsor
State Department of Transportation called in to repair the damage.

While South Windsor made out pretty well from yesterday's storms, there were some rain-related issues, according to police.
South Windsor police spokesman Sgt. Scott Custer said in a press release that "several residents called to report street flooding and a highway supervisor was in town to check hazards."
Morgan Farms Drive at Sullivan Avenue had to be closed briefly and the town contacted the State Department of Transportation to repair the eroded road shoulder on Route 5 in the 500 block, Custer said.
"The guardrail was left unsupported and a gas line was exposed," Custer said. "DOT crews brought in trucks of sand and backfilled the area at 11 p.m last night."
Town Manager Matthew Galligan said that 3.25 inches of rain fell in town in just over 45 minutes.
