Second-Generation Firefighter Advances In South Windsor

A second-generation firefighter in South Windsor has received clearance for interior firefighting duties, officials say.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A member of the South Windsor Fire Department has reached a major training milestone, earning certification that allows participation in interior firefighting operations.


According to the South Windsor Fire Department, the firefighter recently completed Firefighter I training, was issued a yellow helmet, and has been cleared for interior fire suppression duties. The department noted the achievement also carries special significance, as the firefighter represents a second generation of service.

Officials identified the firefighter as Dylan Riedel, congratulated him on the accomplishment, and welcomed him into the next phase of active operations.
