South Windsor Farmers Market Open for the Season!
Weekly market is now open on Saturdays.
The South Windsor Farmers Market opened on Saturday for its third season at its new location - the Charles N. Enes Community Center.
Twenty-four vendors were on hand at the market, which is now being run by the South Windsor Food Alliance.
Mayor Tom Delnicki was on hand to cut the ribbon and make a few remarks in the importance of farmers markets.
"Crops grown locally are the best source of food you have," Delnicki said.
With the new location and organization, the market has doubled in size.
Health coach Maria Mayer provided a workshop on why eating locally is good for residents.
