South Windsor Firefighter Relieved of Duties After Arrest in Mansfield

Division Chief Carlo Piacentini was relieved of his duties after an arrest on unspecified charges.

A South Windsor Volunteer Fire Department division chief has been placed on leave from his duties following his arrest in Mansfield over the weekend.

Carlo Piacentini, who is also a firefighter for the town of Mansfield, was arrested by state police on an unspecified charge or charges on Friday.

Officers at state police Troop C said that a press release had not been issued concerning Piacentini’s arrest and that no further information was available at the moment.

South Windsor Fire Chief Kevin Cooney issued the following statement:

The South Windsor Fire Department was notified on Friday, July 12, 2013, that SWFD Division Chief Carlo Piacentini was arrested by the CT State Police. In accordance with SWFD operating procedures, Mr. Piacentini  was relieved of his duties pending the final outcome of the case.
