South Windsor Police: Man Led Officers on Chase, Had Switchblade in Motor Vehicle

Robert Pagano, 22, of Enfield, is facing several charges.

A 22-year-old Enfield man is facing several charges after police allegedly found a switchblade knife in his motor vehicle after engaging the officers in a brief chase on Saturday morning.

According to a press release, police attempted to stop the motor vehicle driven by Robert Pagano, of 41 Belle Ave., for a violation on Miller Road around 1 a.m. on July 13.

Pagano allegedly sped up to a speed of about 65 mph, turned on to Barber Hill Road and he shut the vehicle lights off, the release states.

He then pulled over a short distance later, according to police.

Pagano was charged with reckless driving, disobeying the signal of an officer, weapons in a vehicle, failure to have lights illuminated and stop sign violation.

He was later released on a $5000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on July 25.
