South Windsor Republicans to Caucus Tuesday
Town's GOP to select candidates for November municipal election.

The South Windsor Republicans will caucus on Tuesday night at Town Hall at 7 p.m. to choose their slate for the November municipal election.
“This is the process; this is how we do things and I am excited about the outcome,” Republican Town Chairman Kathy Daugherty said. “We have a lot of people interested in running for different offices.”
Among the more interesting story lines is whether Mayor Tom Delnicki, the Republicans’ top vote getter on the Town Council for the last two municipal elections, is nominated for the Town Council.

Delnicki resigned from the RTC in May over what said was a difference of opinion on several issues.
When reached by telephone on Monday, Delnicki said he liked his chances to earn a nomination from the floor and a spot on November’s ballot.

“I feel confident I will do well,” Delnicki said. “I think everything will be settled at the caucus. I have a good feeling about tomorrow.”
Daugherty, for her part, said that she welcomed the participation from as many Republicans as possible.
“This is the way it is supposed to be,” Daugherty said. “I am glad we have so many people who are interested in running and that people have a choice.”
