Updated: Juvenile Stabbed Near Mystic's Northeast Academy

Suspect Apprehended, Knew Victim

Groton Town Police responded to a reported stabbing Saturday around 7 p.m. at Northeast Academy on Oslo Street in Mystic, according to police communication.

The release said the Town of Groton and the City of Groton police departments collaborated and apprehended Joseph LaMarch, 21, of 11 Bern Court in Mystic for stabbing a juvenile. LaMarch was apprehended at a residence on Brandegee Road in Groton.

Police said the victim was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital and is expected to recover.

LaMarche is being held on a $250,000 bond and is charged with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment of a minor, possession of a weapon on school grounds, carrying a dangerous weapon, having a weapon in a motor vehicle, risk of injury to a minor.
