Bright & Early Daycare and Preschool Location Opens in Killingworth

Bright & Early Children’s Learning Centers has opened its tenth location, acquiring the former Killingworth Kids Center and property located at 155 Route 81 in Killingworth. The center provides early care and education for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in a nurturing and scholastic environment. The curriculum focuses on all aspects of development including social, emotional, intellectual, and physical. To celebrate the opening of this new location, Bright & Early is offering free registration and one week free to new families who enroll children before July 31 and begin attending by the first week of September.

Founded in 1997 by Connecticut entrepreneur April Lukasik, Bright & Early was created as a childcare and early education solution for working families and for parents wanting to give their children more social and learning opportunities. Lukasik was named Connecticut’s 2018 Person of the Year for Connecticut from the U.S. Small Business Administration and was presented with the inaugural Connecticut Entrepreneurship Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019. She also received the Community Investment Corporation’s “Small Business of the Year” Award in 2023. Lukasik’s daughter, Sydney Pugliares, joined Bright & Early as director of business development in 2022 to help lead acquisition initiatives such as Bright & Early Killingworth.
