Here are the top three stories today in The Haddams-Killingworth:

  1. Connecticut residents now have less than a year to obtain their REAL ID in order to fly domestically starting May 3, 2023. According to an article written by Rich Kirby, "residents will no longer be allowed to board flights or visit federal facilities and military bases with ordinary driver's licenses or ID cards on that date. Those who do not have a REAL ID will need a valid U.S. passport to fly within the country. You don't require a REAL ID-compliant license if you already have a valid US passport, an enhanced driver's license CT, or a DHS Trusted Traveler Card. (Patch)
  2. Save the date for the Parmelee Farm Artisan Market, which will be held on Saturday, September 1o from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Parmelee Farm. The event will feature more than 90 quality artisan and farm vendors from around the state, and a fantastic food court including crowd favorites and healthy choices. Come visit the beautiful Parmelee Farm, bring the whole family, there's something for everyone, including the family dog! Hope to see you there! (Facebook events)
  3. According to an HK-Now article, "Haddam-Killingworth Youth and Family Services announces its 4th Annual Free Haircut and School Supply Drive on Sunday, August 28. The event will be held at the Haddam Volunteer Firehouse at 439 Saybrook Road in Higganum from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. No appointment needed. Ages Kindergarten through 12th Grade.
School Supplies: The HKYFS Backpack Program for the 2022-2023 school year serves Haddam-Killingworth students who are in need of assistance with the essential tools to learn in the classroom.
