- The town of Haddam is reportedly applying for a grant from the state to build a multi-generational park at Haddam Elementary School. According to an article on HK Now.com, a multi-generational park is more than just a playground or playscape for children. It provides activities for people of all ages and abilities. The grant request includes building a sidewalk from the school to Higganum Center. The town is also seeking funding for a generator with the thought of using HES as an emergency shelter, cooling center, cold storage area for the food pantry and possibly a future senior and community center." The big cat was seen on Salem Road and Pease Road in Woodbridge and although that is a ways away from Haddam and Killingworth, its still worth a mention in our towns, to ensure that residents are aware that these large predators are living among us in the Nutmeg State.
