Here are the top stories today in The Haddams-Killingworth:

  1. Haddam residents are now able to view land records online. As of August 1st, when you visit the Town Clerk's page select "Haddam Land Records" on the left side of the page. You will be directed to create an account, once you do that, you will be able to view/print records. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Town Clerk’s office at 860-345-8531 ext. 212 or ext. 211 or via email at: Townclerk@haddam.org or Townclerkasst@haddam.org (Town of Haddam)
  2. In an effort to supply the area with local, Connecticut-grown items and a convenient place to get farm needs and animal food, Ashley and Brad Domkowski opened the doors to their business, Northeast Feed and Supply, late last year at 968 Killingworth Road. According to a Zip06 article, "Dombroski said, “People in town keep on coming. There are a lot of backyard farmers, here in Killingworth, Higganum, and Haddam, and it’s a very convenient spot for folks coming back and forth from work to stop in and get their dog food, their livestock food, or just dinner for themselves. We are also putting in a wash your dog station, where you can come and wash your dog. We supply soap and towels and everything else. We are also hoping to open up a dog grooming shop here as well. That plan is hopefully going to be done by the holidays.” (Zip06.com)
  3. Looking to learn how to cook! Culinary Club meets Wednesday, August 10th at 6:30 p.m. at the Brainerd Memorial Library. In this unique book club, the group gathers together to talk about favorite recipes and the dishes participants have brought to the meeting. If you need inspiration, the library has plenty of cookbooks to help! The theme for the August 10th meeting is Farmers Market: make a dish with any ingredient from a farmers market or your garden. (Hint: the Higganum Farmers Market runs Fridays from 3 to 6 p.m. at the former Haddam Elementary School). A requirement of the club is to bring a dish to the meeting. We will meet on the back lawn. Hope to see you there! Click to register. (HK Now)
