- According to an HK Now article, "The Haddam-Killingworth Youth & Family Services Backpack Program for the 2022-2023 school year has begun. The program serves Haddam-Killingworth students who are in need of assistance with essential tools to learn in the classroom. To donate supplies, please use the bin we have placed outside our building or you may drop off any school supplies at Killingworth True Value, 228 Route 81 in Killingworth. Please be sure to leave your name and contact information. Collections will be ongoing through August 25. To register your child/children for this confidential program, please call 860-345-7498 or email office@hkyfs.org. (HK Now)

- Mario Vazquez, a 43-year-old New Britain native, won the 15th Annual Killingworth Road Race, which was held on Saturday, August 6. According to HK Now, Vazquez beat the runner-up by nearly two minutes. Congratulations Mario! (HK Now)
