Beloved Niantic Restaurant To Close For The Season

A popular local spot thanked its "loyal customers for making this another unforgettable summer..."

NIANTIC, CT — Dad's Restaurant of Niantic has announced it will close its doors for the season. The last day the restaurant will be open this year is Sunday, Sept. 28.

"Thank you to all of our loyal customers for making this another unforgettable summer at Dad’s!" the restaurant posted on Facebook. "We can’t wait to welcome you back next May with more great food, ocean views, and summer memories."

The restaurant opened for the season this year May 27.

Dad's is described as "a modern family restaurant in the heart of Niantic with fresh, locally sourced seafood, a cool vibe and spectacular views of Niantic Bay," according to the restaurant's Facebook page.

Dad's started in 1963 next door to the current location and at first was called Harbor Drive Inn.

The restaurant has a 4-star rating on 757 Google reviews.

One reviewer said: "The food was absolutely delicious and fresh! The hot lobster roll and chicken sandwich are to die for, and their ice cream is a must-try."
