Buoy Honoring Veterans

Celebrate our heroes and she-roes!

BUOY HONORING VETERANS

On Veterans Day, In honor of our Veterans, Rachael Mocek, an optometry technician at the John McGuirk Clinic in New London, which is part of the Department of Veterans Administration, created a buoy to honor the Veterans who have served in our Armed Services and the active duty personnel who presently serve. Be sure to thank a Veteran close to you today and every day. As Maya Angelou has said, “How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes!”

The Buoy includes the Zip-code for New London, the insignias of 5 of the services, initials representing the Veterans Administration of Connecticut and the inscription, “To care for those who have borne the battle”, which is the mission of the Clinic.
